Uncle Crappy and The Wife will be out for the next few days, as we take this year’s being skiing trip Out West.
I can say that because Boyne Highlands, in the northern part of the State Up North, is technically west of Pittsburgh. So. Out West it is.
I’m taking the laptop along, and I understand there is free wifi pulsing through the entire main lodge, so you’ll probably hear from me at some point during the week.
And if not, it’s because I’m skiing. Or drinking. Or eating. Or maybe even sleeping. Don’t take it personally.

Have a safe trip!
Comment by Cynthia Closkey January 14, 2008 @ 8:58 amuc, what does the on the scene reporter have to say about the MI primary? Mitt’s last stand? Huckabee for me? Macinaw backs the Mac? Or Guiliwho?
Comment by Kewyson January 15, 2008 @ 8:42 amafter NH, uc’s influence has grown exponentially (relatively) – so what power brokers are you meeting with today, do the candidates actually go that far north?
Hope you all are having fun!
BTW…just checking in to see what you thought of only losing one underclassman to the NFL? PFA!!!! Orange Bowl, 2009!
Comment by Kristi January 15, 2008 @ 9:09 pmKristi: Despite the abundant local distractions, I’ve noticed that most of the underclassmen are coming back for their senior years. Good news.
Kewyson: Mitt’s the winner, according to MSNBC. He probably got some votes from Michigander Democrats who were probably a bit confused about what Mitt actually stands for.
Cindy: Thanks. The trip up was fine until we got far enough north that the snow finally caught up with us. You’d think that MDOT would have a decent idea about how to deal with lake-effect snowfall. And you’d be wrong.
