March 11, 2008 the cat ate my homework.
Reasons why I’m not posting about covering this afternoon’s Bill Clinton rally:
1) I’d never get it done before midnight.
2) I had to go to shopping at the Evil Arkansas Empire (no, that reference has nothing to do with the Clinton family) to get some stuff The Wife needed before her weekend trip to Dallas. And the Store That Shall Not Be Named is the only one open at this hour.
3) Because of previously mentioned trip, I’m working ridiculously early tomorrow, so I can spend a little time with previously mentioned Wife before she leaves Thursday morning. That means I needed to go to bed a while ago.
4) We’ve all seen plenty of Bill Clinton, right? It was a cool thing to cover, but I’m looking forward to the arrival of actual candidates — like, say, Barack Obama on Thursday. Apparently. Stay tuned.

That’s awesome… “The Store That Shall Not Be Named” and the “Evil Arkansas Empire”…
I often use “The Evil Empire” in reference to that soul sucking place. I also use the phrase in reference to the Evil Mouse Empire, but you get the idea.

Dittos to the other comments on your shopping adventure to the Evil Arkansas Empire. The only time I ever set foot in one of those is in Kauai. The beauty and karmic goodness of Hawaii actually triumphs over evil in this case.
You get many, many husband points for this!

maybe you’ll get lucky and get bill to lose his temper – you are, you know, part of the media. Locally to my work – gov. Spitzer’s nyc office is right next to my office – news trucks have been parked outside since monday – i walked past today, and telemundo was looking.to interview the locals – asking passerbyes if the spoke spanish – she looked right at me, then turned away and asked someone else, as if it’s that obvious – come on now – i don’t of course, but i was profiled!

Kewyson: We had a few protesters for the Clinton rally, but they were Pittsburgh protesters — polite, and very quiet. Nothing for Bill to lose his temper over.
Everyone else: Jesus, I hate that place. I even tried looking at Sheetz for the stuff I needed. But when’s it the only thing open, and you need the stuff tomorrow morning…
