Thanks to the generosity — and the general sneakiness — of Mrs. Crappy, I am attending tonight’s Get Local with Lew beer dinner at Bocktown.
Mrs. Crappy surprised me last week with a ticket to the dinner, which features Pennsylvania beers, locally sourced and prepared food and commentary from Lew Bryson, the Philly beer writer who’s touring the state to promote the release of the latest edition of Pennsylvania Breweries, his excellent guide to beer — craft and otherwise — in the state.
I had written off the event as being a little too pricey for us, but Mrs. Crappy wanted me to go, so she sprung for the pass. And because I married the most thoughtful person of all time, I get to enjoy this tonight:
Yeah, I know! I can’t wait.
There are still a few tickets left for tonight’s deal, which runs from 6 until 9 p.m. You get the beer and the food, a signed copy of Lew’s book, a chance to win door prizes and an evening of merriment. Go here for tix.
Or be nice to Mrs. Crappy; maybe she’ll buy you a ticket too.
I’m jealous, very jealous.

I’ll write about it in more detail tonight, but it was spectacular.

Save me some of those pierogies!

The pierogies were good, even though the mushrooms were the only thing that gave me trouble through the whole meal.
And aren’t you about ready for a beer?

You have no idea how ready. Unless you’ve had to completely give up beer for ten months for some reason. :) Taking suggestions for good ones!
