things we learned from Mr. Tony

I’ve been bummed out by the impending departure of Tony Kornheiser from ESPN Radio’s lineup. TK is quitting the show at the end of the month to concentrate more on the Pardon The Interruption TV show and his real job, which apparently is as a columnist for the Washington Post (Kornheiser was a writer? Who knew?).

The radio show simply is the smartest program available. And hysterical. And it stinks (STINKS!). In the three years or so that I’ve been listening, I’ve come across a few lessons that should continue to enrich my life, even after the radio show is gone. I’ll start the list now, and add to it as warranted until TK is done, I think on March 26.

Things we learned from Mr. Tony:

* A “Vacation” isn’t always a good thing.

* Maggie is the smartest one in the house.

* I’m too old for Wilbon’s America.

* Smart and funny is always better.
