A lot has happened since my last post. Here’s a sampling:

* I’ve been to two Ohio State football games, both wins. We also had two successful tailgate parties, especially the one last week where we — Fred, Ethel, The Wife and I — presented my parents with one of those canopy tents — in Ohio State colors, of course — for use at future parties.

* I’ve re-discovered drumming, thanks in part to a seminar by Rusted Root’s Jim Donovan. Also played once with Bella’s Squash at the Grandhog’s house.

* I interviewed Warren Haynes and wrote a too-short preview story for the Pittsburgh Allman Brothers show from the interview.

* I saw Little Feat play Tennessee Jed.

* I now have copies of all the Dead/Phish shows we attended this summer. We saw some good shit.

* I’ve written an essay on my life with comic books for a friend, B, and her zine, bee. I’m supposed to be writing another essay about being a Deadhead, but it’s coming rather slowly. If you’re in the DC area, find a copy of bee. It’s really good, even when my stuff is in it.

* I put new red aloha seat covers in my car.

* I’m starting to think about skiing already, and The Wife, apparently, is on board.

* It’s slowly starting to look like fall. That always makes me happy.

There are other things. I’ll get to more of them later. Now, it’s lunchtime, and The Wife and I are going out for Mexican.
