it’s beginning to look a lot like…

Wow. It’s been how long?

There was a fire … a terrible flood … IT’S NOT MY FAULT…

I’ve kind of been on vacation, mentally. Lots of stuff to do at work, lots of stuff to do at home to get ready for Christmas, not to mention The Wife’s birthday, which was a day ago. Can’t get skiing off the brain … that’s been a distraction as well. That all adds up to not much motivation to post … but a change is a gonna come …

Within a couple of weeks, we’re going to have a new computer sitting at this desk, one that will have all the newest golden yummies … downloading music, much faster, a cable modem … and an operating system that plays nice with just about everything out there, including Blogger. Part of the non-posting issue I’ve had is the fact that I can’t do what I want to be able to do with Uncle Crappy, so I simply choose to do nothing. The new stuff will help in that area. A bunch.

It also looks like Fred and I are going to start a second page, something that will give us a forum to vent our political frustrations. I’ve started kicking around ideas for a format, as well as for a title, something like “Not Too Bright.” My goal is to have that up and running in time for W’s second inauguration. It’s on the way.

In the meantime, you’re going to have to bear with me a little bit. I still have a ton of Christmas-related shit to take care of, and then The Wife and I are heading to the Tampa area to spend the actual holiday with my sister’s family and my folks, who are already there. Weatherwise, it hasn’t been much of a vacation for them so far — it was so cold there on Tuesday that my mom had to dig out some of my sister’s old winter clothes just so she could stay warm.

Uncle Crappy and The Wife won’t have that problem; in fact, we both seem to be embracing winter, an unusual thing for her. My obsession with skiing has been mentioned previously; The Wife is actually suggesting that we spend a day at Seven Springs this weekend, in lieu of a fancy birthday dinner out. And I NEVER disagree with The Wife…
