i’m not dead yet.

I’ve already been given my assignement for my Sunday shift — going to Mass, to gauge the reaction of local Catholics to what we all assume will be the death of the Pope. Or the miracle of Papal life, if JPII manages to hang on that long.

At least, that’s what I was told. I think it’s a conspiracy among my editors to get me to go to church more often than I do.

Like, say, once a year.

  1. I go to Mass kind of regularly but I’m afraid to go to a special Mass tonight because I’m afraid an editor (or the family member of an editor) will see me and ask me to write a story about it.

We prayed. We sang. We kneeled (knelt?). We left. -30-
