  2. For the past few years, I’ve always taken a vacation day on the day before the game, thinking that there’s just no way I’m going to get any actual work done. With my work schedule this year — and its built-in Fridays off — I decided to take off the Thursday as well.

    And let’s be honest. If I was really concerned about the quality of my work on the week of the Michigan game, I’d just take the whole freaking week off.

    About four days, 12 hours and 50 minutes left, by the way…

  3. A First Grader’s Knowledge
    An Ann Arbor a first grade teacher explains to her class that she is a Michigan Wolverine fan.

    She asks her students to raise their hands if they are Wolverine fans too.

    Not really knowing what a Wolverine fan is, but wanting to be just like their teacher, their hands explode into the air like fleshy fireworks.

    There is, however, one exception. A girl named Amber does not go along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different.

    “Because I’m not a Wolverine fan.”

    “Then,” asks the teacher, “what are you?”

    “Why I’m proud to be an Ohio State Buckeye fan,” boasts the little girl.

    The teacher is a little perturbed now, her face slightly red. She asks Amber why she is a Buckeye fan.

    “Well, My Dad and Mom are Buckeye fans, and I’m a Buckeye fan too.”

    The teacher is now angry. “That’s no reason,” she says loudly. “What if your Mom was a moron, and your dad was a moron?

    “What would you be then?”

    A pause, and a smile. “Then,” says Amber, “I’d be a Michigan Wolverine fan.”
