I felt pretty confident about this one, despite the fact that Michigan was rightfully favored as they came into Ohio Stadium. Everyone remember Teddy Ginn’s punt return for a touchdown, but the turning point was the 98-yard-drive in the second quarter, with Brandon Joe carrying the ball out of our own end zone and none of the ugly helmets being able to do anything about it.
There was Joe’s performance, and Troy Smith racking up about 800 all-purpose yards. Even by halftime, I felt like I could sit back and enjoy the beating. Yeah, I know we were only playing for the Alamo Bowl, but a bad season feels a lot better when you beat Michigan.
Oh my fricken god – it is hard for me to say this, with all of the history- we pulled it off – we walked up into their house, were behind, and marched back down the field and scored – TO WIN!
To be honest – my daily duties as a parent kinda interferred with watching the whole game – I saw the first half – then had to ‘parent’ for awhile – and then got back – 4th quarter – we’re behind – that’s not how I left it – old habits crushing in – can they do it again – you couldn’t write a more perfect nemisis –
but wait – score – then score to take the lead – whoa –
What a wonderful win. Wherever we go – what a wonderful win.
UC – best of luck regrouping – getting back into the swing of things – Maybe you should take Monday off – get out – walk in the woods – get re-aligned again.
I’ll end with my poetic style – Muck Fichigan –
