merry.

I’m taking a break from the blog for a few days, mostly because I spend enough time tethered to a computer already — I don’t intend to do so over Christmas and the following week. There are better things to do.

But I’m not letting y’all off the hook. Your Uncle Crappy Christmas Break Homework Assignment: When you get a chance, leave a comment stating two things: The best and worst things about this year’s holidays. The best things could be blowing away your significant other with an awesome gift or watching a room full of your kids tearing through a pile of presents on Christmas morning. The worst? That’s up to you (as for us, I’m guessing that the drive to Columbus during the predicted snowstorm on Tuesday will be fairly high on the “bad” list).

Among the good things for Uncle Crappy and The Wife: The friends and family we have scattered everywhere. We’ll get to see some of them in the next week, but the others will be on our minds as well. We hope each of you — in Pittsburgh, Columbus, Cleveland, Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbia, Washington, New York, Brooklyn, Clearwater, Orlando, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Dallas, Houston, Boise and even Switzerland, for crying out loud — have a wonderful Christmas.

  1. UC – Merry Christmas and a Happy 2007 =

Okay – really quick – best thing – after my 5 year old opened her big Santa gift (Razor scooter, green wheels and yellow handle bars), her response – “Santa got my letter, Santa got my letter, Santa got my letter” – the shear joy was contagious – worst – food shopping on the 23rd – the entire parking lot was full by 9 a.m. when I got there – lines for everything – lines for lines even – took 2 1/2 hours to buy the grub for the weekend – but in the end – it was all worth it.

  2. Best thing: generally spending time with family. Generic, I know, but chock full of truth.

Worst: Having two very sick kids over the holidays.
