Newcomers to Uncle Crappy should probably be aware of something: I’m a freak for stuff like this:
When you see radar like this in April, you know you’ve got a good chance of seeing some decent thunderstorms. When you see it in November, it means something different.
Winter’s getting ready to start.
I’m not saying we’re going to be shoveling later this week, but to get a line like that in November you need some pretty cold air off the north and west. I think we’ll at least get a taste over the next day or two.
Do me a favor: Someone remind me to take my skis in to get sharpened and waxed.

Skis?!?!
Oh man. :(

I’m a weather nut and I think that comes from being an Erie native where we have 5 seasons in 1 day. Yes, I said 5. Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Holy F@CKING SH@T!
We should have white stuff in the Pittsburgh area this week but it’ll be a dusting at most. KDKA gave their winter prediction that SW PA won’t have more than 32 inches because of a mild winter (yet I tend to believe caterpillars being all black as a sign of a frozen tundra).

I noticed the white spots on The Weather Channel in your area as well – have fun – get the sticks waxed – and pray for, well, you know

Rachel: Wait — there are people who don’t get excited about winter? I had no idea…
Spoon: Living in Erie would do it. My sister used to live in Cleveland’s eastern suburbs, and once got a foot in a little over two hours … close to what the folks from Erie are used to seeing.
And, yeah, I’ve heard about the winter forecast. I’m not happy. But if it gets cold and stays cold at Seven Springs, I’ll be OK.
Kewyson: My sticks will be ready. I hope the weather decides to cooperate.
