even happier.

quad.jpgA big part of me wishes all days could be like yesterday.

1. Non-stop college football.

2. College football interrupted only by outdoor hockey — and a Pens win.

3. A fabulous dinner — prepared by The Wife — of a pork roast, mashed potatoes and a luscious baked sauerkraut-and-Granny Smith apple thing.

4. I finished 2007 with an outstanding beer and started 2008 with another — a cherry quadrupel from Church Brew Works. The Wife and I have struggled with the church recently — for a while they had really cut back on introducing new beers and even their staples had suffered — but they really rebounded in 2007. We picked up the quad last spring, just after it had been bottled, with instructions from one of their brewers to sit on it for a while. Last night, it was awesome.

And now I’m at work.

Damn. Isn’t there some more football on somewhere?

  3. Rachel: That was about the only thing that could have torn me away from all the bowl games. Awesome.

    Kristi: Same to you. I was thinking about how lucky you are on Sunday, when we stopped at Ashland’s new Donatos on the way back here from Columbus. In general terms, Pittsburgh pizza sucks, and I would kill to have a Donatos someplace closer than Akron. Even though its a little tough to eat pizza in the car, I think we’ll be stopping there regularly — can’t beat how close it is to 71.
