Hey, this should be fun.
It’s 5:30 a.m. I’m at work. I was curious to see if I could still type.
And the answer is yes.
I’m here for a series of three assignments that will run sometime here in the near future. All three involved spending an hour with someone who typically works in the middle of the night. So far, the photographer and I have visited a Sheetz and a local donut shop. In about 15 minutes, we leave for the final of the three — a butcher.
Great stuff at 6 a.m.
That part about me being able to type? It turns out I was incorrect.
I thought it would be a good idea to do all three of these in one night, and I’m still thinking that’s probably the right move.
But I also thought I could do a 2-10 a.m. shift after working 10 a.m.-6 p.m. the day before. I’m now thinking that wasn’t the right way to go.
I wish the coffee machine in back made something better. Or at least stronger.
That’s very interesting.
I think sleep deprivation has some serious effects on people.
My dad is insane after 26 years of working a 3am paper route.

I’m used to having to work late occasionally, but I can usually adjust the schedule so I’m not up at the crack of dawn the following day.
However. A 2-10 a.m. shift? Thank god I don’t have to do these very often.

UC, a 2 a.m. start is perfect. You just roll from your favorite watering hole to the office. You still won’t be able to type. It’ll just be for a different reason.
