Hoo.
I’m still alive — kind of — and in the final throes of whatever bug had me racking up frequent flier miles in our bathroom. After two horrible days and one decent one, I was ready to get out of the house on Saturday. The Wife accom0dated, as we:
- Had a late breakfast at Pamela’s in the Strip (I ate real food!).
- Checked out a few houses in Bellevue and Brighton Heights.
- Watched Steep, a fabulous documentary about the evolution of big mountain skiing, at the Harris Theater.
- Had dinner at Mad Mex on McKnight Road (More real food! And a beer!)
I’ve been regretting the real food a little bit today, but it was necessary — I’ve had gallons of soup since Wednesday, and I really needed something a little more substantial. On Friday, I started dreaming about food that would have been absolutely wrong at that point — pizza, crabcakes, breakfast burritos loaded with chorizo — so I definitely needed something that wasn’t broth and veggies.
I’m a bit worn out tonight — and dinner at Mad Mex probably wasn’t the smartest thing I could have done 24 hours ago. But I think — jesus, I hope — that it’s just about over.
Thanks to everyone who checked in over the last few days. I think I’m gonna make it.

Glad you’re feeling better! Stomach sicknesses are the absolute worst. I always think about how I was taking my blissful, unsick stomach for granted.
Blogfest this weekend?
