I have a new toy.

This isn’t a physical toy, like, say the iPhone. It’s more of a new place for Uncle Crappy. And I think I’m going to like it.

I started poking around Tumblr last night, after reading about Cindy’s site late last week. I set up an account, but wasn’t really sure what I was going to do with it.

Until I was covering Barack Obama’s first Pittsburgh appearance this morning, and I realized how easy it was to get stuff up there:

• “Hey. I could send this picture.”
• “Wow. That’s quick.”
• “Hm. This could be fun.”

At the moment, I’m not envisioning my Tumblr site as one that’s tied together by a theme — at least not in terms of content. But I think it will come in handy when I’m out, or when I come across something that requires a little quick attention.

Because much of my day was wrapped up in Obamania, the first bunch of stuff you’ll find at Crappyesque is a quick look at a political rally from the eyes of someone who was covering the thing. I’ll have a video or two from the rally up soon as well.

Take a look, and let me know what you think. And check back there once in a while — it should be interesting.

UPDATE, 5:30 p.m. March 18: If you look over at the sidebar, you’ll see I’ve added the widget Cindy was taunting me with, so you can get a sense of what’s going on there without leaving here. But I’m also enjoying posting over there … so check both, willya?
