done.

If you take a look at the Seven Springs website today, you’d see this:

If you look further, you’d find a notice stating that while the slopes are closed during the week, the front face will be open Saturday and Sunday, presumably for the area’s last weekend of skiing this season.

The funny part? The snow report mentions that the golf course will also be open this weekend, and you get a discount on your greens fees if you present your lift ticket purchased the same day.

I have to admit — the prospect of skiing in the morning and playing golf the following afternoon is a little intriguing. But, uh, did you see the webcam image up there? I dunno about that.

So it’s probably time to say it — my skiing, for this winter, is done.  I had a good year, even though I didn’t really get to Seven Springs that much. We had a great week in Michigan, and on the one day I had at Seven Springs’ race course, I actually qualified for the NASTAR national championships:

That’s a pretty cool thing, although my qualification is based largely on me being at the lower end of my age-based handicap group — as soon as I turned 40, I finally started winning NASTAR medals. The pleasures of getting old…

At some point this weekend, I’ll take the skis and boots down to the basement. I won’t see them again all summer.

Or at least until about August, when I start thinking about skiing again.
