I was pretty excited last night to find that Tom Waits will be touring this summer, with a weekend stop in Columbus on the schedule. The timing of the announcement was remarkable; The Wife I had had just discussed a few days before that we would make seeing him a priority the next time he was playing close by.

Not everyone is familiar with Mr. Waits and his music — and Uncle Crappy is here to help. Cindy pointed me to a video from Monday’s news conference held to announce the tour; there’s no music involved, but I think it does a pretty job of illustrating Waits’ view of the world.

I hope to see you in Columbus June 28. And if I don’t — I hope you have a pehdtsckjmba summer.

  1. Hold on to your assets – will you and the wife be staying over in Columbus through the 4th? We are planning on driving out on 7/2 and staying through the weekend –

    Loved his thought process – I think there must be a constellation guiding me through my journey as well – say – the Milky Way?
