While we were doing the Groundhog thing in Ohio, it apparently snowed in Pittsburgh.

What we found when we returned home Sunday afternoon. Yeah, there would be shoveling before I could go to work.

The cedar above the driveway clearly wasn't digging all the snow.
Neither did the cedars in the backyard, although we didn't notice until Monday night.
I stayed home on Monday, to accomplish one task: to make this...
... look like this. Just in time to do it all over again.

  1. With the exception of the sidewalk in front of the house — generously cleared by a neighbor with a blower — it was all shovel. We had to clear the walk in front of the house and the bottom of the driveway on Sunday when we got home; I did the rest on Monday.

And it looks like we’ll be doing it again tonight. Wheeee!

  2. E: Yep. Mrs. Crappy’s Fit was unavailable until I dug it out yesterday. That took about two hours; it would have been more, but I elected not to clear the avalanche zone at the bottom of the driveway.

So — how much snow did you guys get?

  3. I am right there with you. I drove my Camry today for the first time since Friday. Someone finally came to plow us and my in-laws out (to the tune on $250) yesterday. I don’t know what today is going to bring, but I have to uncover my front walk, which got plowed under again yesterday. Also, I need to unfreeze the bucket of salt on my front porch. All this while containing the children. Joy!
