The best hot dogs ever in the history of people putting processed meat parts into casings are made by Omaha Steaks.
This pronouncement requires a little explanation. I’ve had Omaha Steaks hot dogs — they call them Gourmet Franks — before, once when Fred and Ethel hauled a few from their freezer once summer night when we were debating about what to do for dinner. And, uh, sweet holy jesus.
And then I forgot. I’m pretty fond of Nathan’s hot dogs — sharp casing and spicy meat. But The Wife surprised me with the Omaha Steak doggies tonight, after she found herself near the new outlet in Cranberry this afternoon.
Grilled? A little brown mustard and onion? With a glass of Penn Weizen on the side?
Yeah.
We had the same dogs a few years ago with some friends, and then I bought them for your brother-in-law for Father’s Day…his best F.D. present ever!
Omaha makes a GREAT hot dog!!
