I may have a new favorite sport. At least until college football season starts again.

Mrs. Crappy and I met Father Spoon and Dahcheet at Boyce Park this afternoon to finally see Annoyed Angel and Calipanthergrl and the rest of the Pittsburgh Angels play. And although I understood about half of what I was watching, I had a great time.

I don't know her name, but the visitors saw a lot of the woman who's carrying the ball here.

The final score helped — Pittsburgh beat the Severn River club 80-0. AA even scored a try for us. (That was for us, right?)

Hm. The ball-carrier looks kind of familiar.

AA, who didn’t play the first half, also helped by answering our dumb questions for a while. That was a big help, although I found the game isn’t at all difficult to follow even if you’re not completely clear on what’s happening.

We didn’t stick around for the men’s second game, although I want to see them play — if for no other reason than it’ll help convince me that golf is a much more appropriate sport for a person of my advanced age.

Rugby Day Part Two — better known as the Asshat Tweetup — is coming up in just a few hours. If you’re in Pittsburgh and you don’t have an infant at home to take care of (Hi, Spoon!), attendance is mandatory. See you there.
