I have a couple suggestions as to things you might want to check out when you have a spare couple of minutes today.

First, you should head over to Father Spoon’s always-excellent Hump Day Happiness blog. His beer review site not only features his review of the Guinness 250th Anniversary Stout, but also that of a special guest reviewer. And I’ll give you three guesses as to who that might be.

Thanks to Spoon for letting me play along; I’m going to see if I can talk him into doing a guest spot here sometime soon.

And then you might want to click on the big purple box below, especially if you have a few extra bucks you might want to give to the March of Dimes. Mrs. Crappy and I are walking for MoD on Saturday morning, and we hope to raise $200 as part of the deal.  You’ll find my personal backstory here, and if you click the banner, you’ll be magically whisked away to my MoD site, where you can make a secure and tax-deductible donation.

We’re halfway to our goal; I hope you can help take us the rest of the way.

  1. WHY! WHY! WHY!

Why would they make a Guiness without the creamy goodness of nitrous carbonation? As I sit and watch the cascade, my happiness builds into pure giddiness in anticipation of the first mouthful of frothy deliciousness. As the glass hits my lips and that dark, roasted liquid splashes into my mouth a feeling of wellness washes over me. The smoothness over my palette and down my throat explains, without a doubt, why this beverage has been around for 250 years. Plus, I love the beer mustache!
