Before we do this:

And even this:

I am looking forward to all three.

  1. Fred: Remember Dave Kingman?

RPM: You’ve seen the directions already, right? Come out and watch; fun for grownups and kids alike (we usually have BurghBaby’s daughter and a baby or two out with us as well). And I’d love to see my Monkey again.

  2. kingman’s cool, but he doesn’t feel quite right. although “king kong kingman” was a good nickname.

your team should start calling you “THUNDER” in honor of former indian andre thorton. another option would be “BOOMER” for george scott. i don’t think he ever played for the indians, but he played for the brewers and you like beer.

  3. Large: My understanding is that part of the fun of holding big bass tournaments like that in Pittsburgh is that there are no fish like that in our Three Rivers. Plenty of small one, yes, but not the monsters these guys are used to landing. I guess it’s a challenge for them, and pretty serious entertainment for those who watch.

Fred: I’m told my official nickname is “Lefty McThump.” I’m OK with that.

  4. I didn’t know you were going to Kelly’s Island. How often do you get out there? Did you know about the outdoor art gallery (there is even better stuff inside too). Basically a sculptor/painter living on the island really good stuff. It is back behind the air strip.

Worth a visit. Also if you get to the KI Brew Pub let me know how it is because I’ve never been able to sneak away from my fam and sample a few when I’m there.

  5. Norm: I didn’t know about the gallery. We’ll be sure to check it out. We do know about the brewpub, though; the last time we were there — maybe three years ago — it was just OK. We’re going to give them another shot, though.

We love Kelleys. It’s a lot quieter than South Bass, and the fact that it has an actual beach helps a lot too.
